Why to choose us

Career

Your career plan will provide you with tools and information to help you explore your career options, build experience, prepare for your future career, and find a job—whether it’s your first job after graduation or a part-time or summer job for right now.

Your connections can provide valuable information for your career exploration and possible opportunities when searching for a job. Looking at the connections you already have, thinking about ways you can connect with others in the future, and developing the skills to use your connections in mutually beneficial ways is the first step in your career plan.

Undergraduate

In the United States of America undergraduate refers to those who are studying for a bachelor’s degree.

The most common method consists of four years of study leading to a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), a Bachelor of Science (B.S.), or sometimes another bachelor’s degree such as Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.), Bachelor of Social Work (B.S.W.), Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.), Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs (B.S.P.A), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.), or Bachelor of Philosophy (B.Phil.) Five-Year Professional Architecture programs offer the Bachelor of Architecture Degree (B.Arch.) or sometimes Master of Architecture degree (M.Arch.).

Postgraduate

Postgraduate programmes offer the opportunity to undertake in-depth study in a particular area of interest. Postgraduate study is also more challenging than undergraduate study; it requires commitment and the demonstration of more advanced study skills.

During your undergraduate study, you will have learned many of the skills required to study successfully at postgraduate level. However, it is important to realise that postgraduate study requires greater independence, and students need to use their own initiative in completing course work and undertaking research projects.

Research-Phd

The PhD is a doctoral degree, specifically called a “doctor of philosophy” degree. This is misleading because PhD holders are not necessarily philosophers (unless they earned their degree in philosophy!). That said, PhD recipients are able to engage in thought experiments, reason about problems, and solve problems in sophisticated ways.

Like a master’s degree, the doctorate also entails coursework. PhD degrees also require that students pass comprehensive exams and a large scholarly project called a dissertation. The completion of the dissertation signifies that the student is able to make significant independent contributions to the field.

Professional Development

We offer a comprehensive range of short courses, industry recognised professional qualifications and bespoke training to develop your skills, expertise and enhance your career prospects.

Professional Development (PD) is quite simply a means of supporting people in the workplace to understand more about the environment in which they work, the job they do and how to do it better. It is an ongoing process throughout our working lives.

We live in a rapidly changing world where legislative, social and economic developments directly affect the environment in which we live and work, and where technological advances provide radically different ways of working. PD opportunities provide a means whereby we can keep abreast of these changes, broaden our skills and be more effective in our work.
