Internships and placements offer a cost-effective and low-risk way of boosting your efficiency, productivity and profit. University of Northwest offers employers a range of services to get the most from student and graduate resource, with the aim of:

  • introducing innovative new ideas into your business
  • expanding your workforce for a short-term project without the long-term commitment
  • delivering highly motivated graduates who are eager to gain valuable business experience
  • identifying potential new employees you can ‘test drive’ with the minimum risk.

University of Northwest’s Internship Programme

This programme offers companies based in the East of England* the opportunity to work with a high calibre graduate or penultimate year student from a UK university, on a work placement for up to 12 weeks. The graduate or student is employed by University of Northwest University but works full-time as an intern within your company. The Internship Office takes care of all the admin (advertising, recruitment, short-listing, contracts and remuneration). Please visit the Internship Programme website for full details.

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships

A Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) is a three-way partnership between your business, University of Northwest University, and an excellent graduate, working together on a project you have determined is central to your company’s needs. KTPs are supported by government grants of up to 67% of the programme costs and companies participating report an average increase in annual profit of over £227k. University of Northwest University has a successful track record in helping business in the region to become more profitable, productive and efficient, and offers three programmes for: long-term strategic projects, short-term tactical projects or projects to help reduce your company’s carbon footprint.
